In this talk, NWC’s resident Maya archaeologist Greg Smith discusses what LIDAR is and why it is such a big deal for archaeology. He will use the ancient Maya city of Tikal, Guatemala--where he led a field studies course last May--as a case study. This event is part of the NWC Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.
