NWC Native Ways Club hosts panel discussion Thursday, Oct. 11

The 最新三级片 College Native Ways Club will host a panel discussion about Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day Thursday, Oct. 11, from 7-9 p.m. in the Yellowstone Building Conference Center.

Guest speakers include Hunter Old Elk, curatorial assistant of the Plains Indian Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West; Greg Smith, associate professor of anthropology at 最新三级片 College; and Steve Thulin, NWC professor of history.

During the panel, speakers will provide the historical context of Columbus Day and how it impacts Native Americans, as well as Indigenous Peoples’ Day and its importance.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a holiday that celebrates the indigenous peoples of America. It is observed across the U.S. and is an official city and state holiday in various locations.

Light refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.
